NewsAllgemeinINSIDE M2M holds a workshop at Osnabrück University

On the 7th. of May 2012, INSIDE M2M hosted a workshop at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences within the context of the Master Degree Course “Verteilte und Mobile Anwendungen” (Distributed and Mobile Applications). The workshop allowed IT students to experience the development of mobile M2M applications from the practical side.

During the workshop, an application was developed for Cinterion‘s XT65 platform (GPRS data module with GPS-receiver). The application determined the current geo-coordinates using a GPS receiver and sent them to a server application through the mobile phone network. On the server, the received coordinates were displayed on a map.

The application was programmed by the students. They received detailed instructions and active support from the INSIDE M2M developers. In addition to the theoretical training at the University, during the workshop the students were able to get an insight into practical working procedures during the development of M2M applications.

MC Technologies GmbH provided the necessary hardware for the event; the SIM cards were provided by the M2M Competence Center of the Deutschen Telekom AG.
