MAXICHECK™ Connect system by SAFECHEM

SAFECHEM is a globally leading provider of sustainable solutions for the safe and resource-efficient use of solvents. With MAXICHECK™ Connect, a system has been created that precisely monitors the condition of solvents in industrial cleaning machines and can significantly extend their service life.

Together with INSIDE M2M, an IoT platform was developed that securely connects measuring devices and cloud services and makes measurement results centrally available — an important step towards greater transparency, process reliability, and sustainability in industrial parts cleaning.

The Challenge

In industrial parts cleaning, consistent solvent quality is critical to process stability and operational sustainability. Previous measurement methods — such as using a test kit with various reagents — required manual documentation and were prone to errors. A centralized data view and systematic evaluation of measurement data were missing.

The goal was to create an IoT system with a new generation of measuring devices that digitally captures measurement values, events, and condition data, transfers them securely, and makes them centrally analyzable while meeting the highest security and data protection standards.

The name: MAXICHECK™ Connect.

The Solution

SAFECHEM developed an innovative digital measuring device that enables precise and reproducible measurements without manual error sources. INSIDE M2M built the IoT infrastructure based on M2MGate, securely connecting the measuring device to the cloud via a gateway.

Cloud connectivity enables SAFECHEM to configure, maintain, and update MAXICHECK™ Connect devices remotely, ensuring customers always operate the latest firmware. The cloud solution also eliminates manual documentation: measurement results are centrally recorded, stored sustainably, and are available at any time both on the MAXICHECK™ Connect and in the cloud portal. Another advantage for customers is the custom dashboards built on BI systems that are continuously fed with live data from MAXICHECK™ Connect units, accurately reflecting the operational performance of their machine or fleet.

By precisely monitoring solvent condition, unnecessary replacement cycles are avoided, the service life of cleaning systems is extended, and chemical consumption is reduced — a clear contribution to resource conservation and environmental protection.

Secure IoT Connectivity

Each MAXICHECK™ Connect is connected to the cloud via a dedicated gateway. Communication takes place via encrypted MQTT channels with mutual authentication (mTLS).

This ensures that measurement data and device information are transmitted tamper-proof — a key requirement for safe operation in industrial environments.

SAFECHEM Administration Portal

The administration portal developed by INSIDE M2M provides the central interface between the cloud, devices, and users. It enables the management of MAXICHECK™ Connect units, cleaning systems, reagents, measurement methods, customers, and operators.

Changes are made centrally and automatically synchronized with connected gateways.

IoT Platform: M2MGate

For operation, monitoring, and support, the M2MGate portal is available. It enables monitoring of gateway connectivity, distribution of firmware and software updates, as well as diagnostic and debugging tools for support and maintenance.

The M2MGate platform supports seamless integration of region-specific hardware configurations to ensure optimal reliability across different markets. This allows IoT infrastructures to be operated, maintained, and expanded efficiently, including globally, where country-specific certification and network requirements must be met.

Real-Time Data Transmission and Visualization

Measurement logs, process data, operating hours, or alarms are transmitted from MAXICHECK™ Connect to the IoT cloud in real time via the gateway. This ensures immediate documentation of results and central management of customer-relevant condition data.

The information stored on the platform enables SAFECHEM to detect trends, assess system conditions, and derive informed recommendations using powerful analytics tools.

Notifications via email and SMS

Intelligent Notifications

Operators and process owners are automatically informed about relevant events. Critical alarms are delivered through multiple communication channels. Deviations or overdue recommended actions reach the responsible persons immediately.

This enables timely responses in operation without requiring continuous system access.

Future-Proof Architecture

The solution is modular and fully integrated into the M2MGate ecosystem. Future extensions — such as automated process control, remote health checks, or detailed analytics — can be implemented without architectural changes.
